Monkey Cross Race #2 in Santa Rosa
Monkey Cross Race 2 just happened and “Big props!” to Moshe for hacking it out in one of the harshest cyclocross courses maybe of the season! What started as a rainy day eventually cleared up for some muddy, but not rainy cross racing! There was a brutal mud pit half a wheel deep that was stopping guys and girls left and right. Check out Nick Gaetano’s flickr stream for some great shots. Some particular awesome shots: this nosedive, this dude diggin hard through the muck, another header, splish and splash! Here are a few shots we took and uploaded on our flickr site.
Lookie lookie what we found!
Hello interweb. Sorry its been so long since we last updated! We have been having too much fun in the real world to keep the virtual world up to date! Lets see … last we spoke we were on our way to Biketoberfest! The co-ride with SOMA out there was great - we didnt lose anybody and at the end of it all there was BEER! And a whole bunch of it! Those that participated got a commemorative glass and all the beer they could drink! It was a grand time with some of the greatest bay-area and Nor Cal builders representing. Included were Hunter, Sycip, http://www.calfeedesign.com/, Retrotec and Inglis as well as industry standards Paul Comp. Some friends also raced in the ‘Cross race and a good time was had by all! More recently there was the SF Bike Expo and bike swap at Cow Palace. We might have seen one another there grabbing some goodies. But that will be covered in the next post. This post is really about the bike in the photo above.
A few months ago we showed off a Huffy Team Olympic bike and stated that we wanted to started a bike of the month posting. Well so far we’re off to a pretty horrible start, totally missing the second installment. And not for lack of bicycles either. Its just all our fault. Anyway, to show off make up for it here is a recent find: Sasha’s (practically) new team 7-Eleven Eddy Merckx! Probably a ‘91, this TSX Columbus tubed Dura Ace dream is awesome! Hardly a scratch on her! Sasha had always wanted this bike but decided that finding one in good shape and in his size was probably too much to ask for. Fear not! Original down to the cable and the chain, with the exception of the 8 speed cassette, the bicycle is a dream! Click on the photo for a shot of Sasha with the bike. A BIG BIG thank you to amazing sports photographer John McDermott for taking the photos! Be sure to check out his website especially if youre a sports or particularly soccer fan.
We also want to quickly add that we made another quick-n-dirty panoramic of the shop again. Its been about 1.5+ years since the last one and there has been a lot of changes.
Rosebud was a bike!
