We’re gonna be HUGE!
Hello internets! We’ve been super-busy since we last spoke and while it can be trying, we cant complain about the work. We love what we do and so we love to be busy! We also had CBS stop by our shop and they filmed a quick little thing on our shop. Some producers called us telling us they wanted to produce a short internet clip for our shop and talk about how, as a small business, we have managed the recession. They wanted to know what we have done to make ourselves unique and what steps we have done to make ourselves stand out among the crowd. It was a quick interview and it was super quick editing time. Click on the banner image above or here to watch the clip! They also made mention that they were going to edit the footage they shot into a clip emphasizing going green and recycling older bikes - so stay tuned for that!
On a side note, we also had a great time at the Dolores Park Bike Swap last week. I would say it was bigger than swaps past, and there were some really nice bikes around, so a success all around! Click here or check out our flickr stream for some photos.
Introducing our Nice Bike of the Month!
So its been a while since I wanted to start the Nice Bike Club and here it goes! Ill try to choose one select special bike a month to highlight on the blog. This month we bring to you a recent pick up - a true-blue 1984 Serotta-built Huffy Olympic team bike! Apart from the scratches, there are no dents on this massive 59cm track frame. I was trying to do a little research on the 1984 US Olympic Cycling Team and I was wondering who was tall enough to ride the frame. Got any clues?
I also came across a new acronym yesterday when perusing the BBC: MAMIL. Ever heard of it? If youre reading this, chances you are one. Middle-Aged-Man-In-Lycra. Ring a bell? Maybe youre in some now. Anyway, check out the article. I talks about how many more middle-aged men are turning to cycling and how as a demographic, they are popularizing the sport. Ride on!
Phil made it! Tour de L’America is done!
Hooray! Phil made it all the way across the US of A! Congrats Phil! Cant wait to see you on the west coast again! Whatta Champ!
*On a side note - sorry about the technical difficulties keeping the Tour De L’America blog on this site updated. We are still not sure about what went wrong there. For full info on Phil’s ride, check out the other blog.
Anyway - ride on!
Rosebud was a bike!
