Rabobank riders check out Citizen Chain!
Rabobank pro team riders Lars Boom and Tom Leezer drop by
Well. Well. Well. The Dutch came calling to Citizen Chain right before the Amgen Tour of California.
Rabobank Pro team members, Lars Boom and Tom Leezer (Escorted by Fred Mendez, Rabobank Exec and Chain Gang Neophyte) spent some quality time with the Chain Gang, talk centered around Rabo’s prospects during the coming TOC and preparations for the Tour de France. Big smiles where present on both of the Pros faces after checking our sweet vintage rigs and snagging a few Citizen Chain T-Shirts to style in! Lars and Tom made a quiet morning at Citizen Chain a special one with their kind visit, we wish them both great success in their future cycling careers.
Lars and Tom also shared a couple Dutch Phrases everyone should know!

Tour of California May 18, 2010
May 18, 2010 - Stage 3 - Start
Very exciting things going on if youre a cycling fan in San Francisco! If you weren’t privy, stage 3 of the Tour of California started in SF today and went all the way down to Santa Cruz, with a few detours up mountains. Heres a pdf of the route. We went out there to check out the going ons and see some of the worlds fastest men on bicycles. There wasnt too much swag around but there was an electric atmosphere and everyone was excited. And of course, there were the machines. Totally badass. A lot of SRAM but Campy was represented too. I saw the Specialized Angel too - which is always a pleasure.
I would like to give props to whoever’s bike this is. Thats good stuff! I really like this photo, and heres a video of the start!

Dont look at the photo above and guess what? I bet you’ll never guess! Okay I’ll tell you. Two guys from the city came by and told me that as part of the plans to make bicycle-associated improvements to the city, theyre putting a bunch of new bike racks in. And thanks to a few anonymous tips to the coalition, Citizen Chain is getting 2 new bike racks out front! Oh yeah! Word has it that they will be put in by the end of the month. — That and were getting a couple of trees put up outside of the shop too! Its just us doing our little part to beautify our already beautiful city!
